[Harley is laying on a couch, flat on her stomach, feet kicking in the air. She uses one armrest to prop up the newspaper she's reading, labelled 'Gotham Gazette' for the curious. The story she seems to be focused on involves recent convictions to Arkham Asylum and also the recent escapes. They go hand in hand. Arkham is a revolving door for psychos, okay?

She eats cereal out of a carefully perched bowl as she reads.]

Aw, Professor Crane's back in again. Guess that heist of his went sour. [A scowl as she shovels in more fruity delicious cereal.] Figures that Bats can't even give the poor guy a week out.

[oooh, cereal. he could go for cereal. he should go to the kitchen to see if there is cereal. cereal is good. he should stop and at least say hello on his way, though. that and she seems like a good type for a distraction]

What was he stealing?

[Felix has been wandering. And now he is just lost. He pauses near her, not really paying attention.]

I thought it was somewhere around here.

[Harley looks up mid-bite of cereal. She finishes it before speaking.]

Eh, just some cash from the bank. He's always runnin' out of funds for his projects, so he probably needed some more before layin' low.

[Harley glances at him.] Hey kiddo, lose your marbles or do ya always look like that?

Projects? [takes at the edge of the sofa] Really? Anything interesting?

Last I checked, my appearance hadn't changed.

[Harley sits up so he can see the paper if he wants.] Probably more of his fear studies. Professor Crane's real interested in that. And he's good at chemicals and things that make the fears come out. [She laughs.] When it comes to what scares the pants offa people, he's one smart cookie.

Jeez, I meant you look lost. Don't be so literal! What's got your face like that?

[leans over and looks at the paper]

Fear studies? That doesn't sound very pleasant. What would he want to do that for?

[Harley has to think.]

I know he used to work at the university. Guess he's always been interested in it, kinda like me and abnormal personalities. The university didn't really let him do experiments, so he busted out on his own to do what he wanted.

Does anyone get hurt during these experiments?

Of course they do. [She flips open the paper and just holds it up, an article about a mafia owned bank.] Gotham ain't a pretty city, not one bit. We're up to our wrung out necks in mafia and gangsters even if you ignore the baddies like me and Ivy and Mr. J. Not that there ain't goody-goodies but it's one heck of a place.

[his brow knits, worried]

Is it innocent people who get hurt in these experiments, or are they the sort that are involved in this bank type thing?

Eh, it depends. I don't think he really cares unless he's wonderin' something specific. One time he tried to target the whole city. But I'll ask him next time I'm in Arkham, unless I see him first. [She says this as it is simply a fact of life that she'll be committed again.]

It doesn't have to be a given you'll end up back there, does it?

Well I hope not! But it's pretty much a given. I've got a usual cell and everything. It's near Red's!

Well, at least there's a friendly face nearby. That sort of thing goes a long way.

Still, I'm sure you're clever enough that you can stay out of trouble. Just need to avoid this bat person is all. He can't really be everywhere at once, can he?

[Sigh] I'm trying to find where I first appeared in this place.

[She sighs and leans back.] I try to! You try to live a decent life, make some money on the side and try to get the man your heart's set on and someone has to crush it all down!

[She snorts.] Ha! Fat chance of that. Why would you look for it anyway? It ain't important.

He can't be reasoned with at all? Or is he the "no second chances" sort?

Isn't it?

[Harley sets down her bowl and crosses her arms.] He's annoyin'! He's always beatin' up my poor puddin' and lookin' down on us like we was scum or something.

Scum? That doesn't sound right. Has anyone tried having a good talking to with him? Or maybe he just needs a good slap or something, that usually works with that sort.

[She's eating ice cream and still scowling about her Dad BANISHING HER BOYFRIEND fffff. It's the 'heist' bit that gets her attention.] Maybe he should've waited more than a week to try stealing something.
