[the Doctor is sitting in his arm chair; he's replaced the damaged hat stand, and his coat and hat are hung primly

he is scowling, arms crossed tightly over his chest, wrinkling the thin, smooth fabric of his white shirt]

Either you're still your first and you don't need an excuse to look irritable, or you're back to normal and someone has foiled your evil scheme.

[staring straight ahead, voice sharp] "Evil" is, as you well know, a relative term.

Oh, I very much do know. But the morality we tend to place ourselves in views, well, my sorts of actions as evil. So for the sake of easy parlance, I usually throw aside the semantics and go with the accepted definition. There are days, though.

Hmm. [leans back slightly, mouth now set in a thin, hard line]

He didn't ruin any "schemes".

[lifts an eyebrow]

My facial expression asks you for elaboration.

[flatly, still not meeting his eyes] If you need to clarify, you need a better facial expression.

[Hesitantly] Theta Sigma? Is... everything all right?

[slowly, a wry smile forms, and he shakes his head] It's Doctor again, Misaki.

[Oops.] So it was you.

Doctor, I am bloody sick of the lot of you. Don't test me or I'll feel inclined to break your nose.

[Well, this seems to be the opposite of what she was going through the other day. Still, best to return the favor. Dorothy steps out, and reappears with a cup of tea.]

How're you doing?

[raises his head, looking severely unimpressed] Crude.

Sulk in silence, then.

[without flourish, he leaves]

You don't seem happy.

[quiet laugh] Yes. I apologise for the confusion.

I'm afraid I'm not. [his expression softens, though, until he's almost smiling] It will pass, I'm sure.

So, Theta Sigma-- [pause] Are you all right?

Doctor? [Have a Henrietta with a British accent and a few years tacked on for good measure.] All right?

[...blink] Henrietta? [and the sullenness fades in favour of bemusement]

[You just made her evening] You recognized me!

[mouth opens, then closes again, and he shakes his head] Not quite, no. I never thought I'd hear that name again - not from anyone but Koschei, anyway.

[smiles] Of course. You're not that different. Enough, however, that I'm curious...

[Frown] Koschei?

[She doesn't even seem to mind the fact that he thinks she's changed. She sits down next to his feet.] The Twins mucking about, I guess. They made my dad forget things, and made everyone else think I'd changed.

Hmm? Ahh, yes. The Master of my universe - he never became the Master.
