[Upon appearing on the plane, her hands jump, as though she's just dropped something.]

Shenme? Cap'n? 'Nara? [The lack of any immediate responses elicits a frown.]

This...this ain't Serenity. But if it's...where am I? This ain't like one of them hallucinations Simon's gone on about before, is it? Maybe it is. Maybe it's just...did I drink somethin' bad?

[Her fingers flex idly at her side as she turns slowly to examine her surroundings.]

River'd know, but she's back on Serenity, they all are. What if they're hurt? What if somethin' happened, and that man...he-he...I gotta figure a way to help 'em, if that's the case. I gotta...get out of here.

[Her hands rest on her hips as a look of worry crosses her face. From what she's seen, this almost looks like Persephone, but that wouldn't make any sense at all.]

Relax yourself, lass. [Have an easy smile.] This is the Astral Plane, and wherever your friends are, they're just as you left them. Time doesn't seem to mean much here--you could spend hours in this place and not a moment will have passed back in your home.

[The unexpected puppy gets a smile.] Yeah, I'm...well, don't know much at the moment that ain't my name. I'm Kaylee.

[Half-smile in return.] Astral Plane? But it looks like...Persephone.

[Mightily confused, but very friendly.] It's nice meetin' you, I'm Kaylee.

[Headtilt] Persephone?

It's... a bit confusing at first. [Picks Haruki up before he can wizz on her shoe or something :\ ] Misaki Kirihara. This... is the Astral Plane. It's a sort of meeting point, you could say, between worlds.

[Watches the puppy, fascinated.] Between worlds? Never heard of anything like that before. That something bad, like you get hurt or sick or somethin' and you come here?

[Looks very confused now.] You never heard of Persephone? Even folk on the border worlds know about Persephone.

Border worlds?

[Blink] I don't think so. It seems completely random, actually.

[Have a depressed little ~~cyborg~~ girl in the middle of an experiment.] Ah... someone new...

Oh. I'm glad to hear that. Sorta. Still hard to understand it just yet. [Looks at puppy again.] His name's...Haruki? Mind if I pet him?

[Pause, slight head tilt.]

...guess you don't know. You come from somewhere else?

[She's looked at with confusion.] New? I think I've been here before, it looks a bit like Persephone. Only...I shouldn't be here, I should be on Serenity...

[She stops herself before she starts rambling too much.]

This would be the Astral Plane. First time here?
