[the TARDIS is back on the Plane, sitting in her own little quiet corner, wearing the dress Ten.One got her waaaaaaaaaaay back when for Christmas (look, I found it!). BUT ANYHOW, yes. she's on the Plane, contemplative, because our dear old TARDIS is having a moral dilemma in regards to Diva's death. yes, you read that correctly. she's actually kinda sad the vampire is gone and she doesn't understand why, considering the lack of love between them. so she's sitting, and thinking, and trying to work out why she cares]

{I promised, didn't I? Dietrich is standing a safe distance away, watching the TARDIS with a smile} My, something bothering you today, my TARDIS?

[TARDIS thinks you're a whore for keeping said promise. and he damn well better stay a safe distance away :/] Not until you appeared. And I do not belong to you.

[Watching curiously, one hand in her pocket and the other on her sword, just chillin'.] All right, lass?

[glances at her, then nods slowly] I am well, yes.

Healthy, maybe. [Comes over and plops down next to her.] Something on your mind?

I am always thinking, child. I never stop.

[Chuckle] Something specific preoccupying you, then.

{Oh, Miss TARDIS, you're so cruel~} Ah, how mean. I only wished to check and see what made my machine so melancholy.

{He considers it for a moment, mulling over what could be bothering her aloud} Let's see...Did you have a fight with the Doctor? Encounter the Master...? I doubt that the machine's problems really bothers you so...

{Thinking of recent events, then curiously} That vampire you hate, she died, right?

[why yes, yes she is] I am not yours, and you will cease suggesting as such.

[glares at him, then turns away] I see no reason to answer any of your questions.

[frowns] I am ... uncertain.

Oh? But I know you very well, perhaps even better than the Doctor. Who knows? In that sense, it's only fair to call what I know mine.

{Grins} Then it must be the vampire. Her death upsets you?

No, you do not. Do not dare to place yourself at the same level as the Doctor. He knows me -- you do not. You have no claim.

[clenches her fingers] How I feel is no concern of yours.

Yet, if I were to wish it, you would become my belonging again. Perhaps, if we were to play again, I would bring you to my home to meet others who would be quite interested in seeing what makes a..."time machine", as it is, tick. Perhaps Isaak, even.

Yet it concerns you. And I was under the impression that you hated her. What if she didn't come back, Miss TARDIS?

I would not. I was never yours and will never be. [eyes him warily] Whatever you did cannot and will not be done again. I am not your puppet with which to play.

If she is gone, it is a blight upon the universe removed.

{Smiles devilishly, even laughing gently} Miss TARDIS, you don't really want to tempt me with that kind of offer. I wouldn't have to really hurt you, you know? It'd be such a shame.

Then why mourn her passing? Even if you're mistaken to think vampires so useless, that makes it strange to be...sad about one's passing.

[That intrigues her.] You don't strike me as the type for uncertainty. What's got you mixed up?

[shivers a little and shifts farther from him] Do you know how to do anything other than harm?

[narrows her eyes, then turns away again] I do not mourn her passing.

Of course. I didn't lie when I said that I love you. The same goes for Esther, of course.

{Smiles~} Then why mope as if you were?

You do not love me. You do not know how to love.

[affronted] I am not moping.

I am not. But the vampire, Diva. She is dead. I ... do not know how to feel about this.

You can think what you want about that, Miss TARDIS. I'm aware that the feeling won't be returned, so there's not really a need to insist otherwise.

Then merely thinking about why a vampire's death bother you?

[sighs] You would not understand.

Obviously not. That's why I'm asking.

And I choose not to tell you. I have no reason to grant you that knowledge.

{Sighs, putting a hand to his temple before taking a few steps closer} Really? I would think that you'd have excellent motivation to tell me of your own will rather than me forcing it out of you.

[steps back. she's prideful, but not stupid -- well, sometimes] You will remain a safe distance from me and cease your attempts to force me to talk.

Miss TARDIS, I've already made my point. You've been in my control, been my puppet, so you, better than anyone here, knows what I'm capable of. Let me just say that my strings, they work just the same as any bacteria. Any person you touched, Miss TARDIS, they're now infected as well.

{Nonchalantly, as he curls a strand of his hair idly} So I would hope that an intelligent person such as yourself could understand what that implies.

If you had any desire to use those strings against another, you would have done so by now. Threatening me with them will get you no farther than asking me directly.

{Laughs} You really think that's how I "work"? I'm hardly a fighter, Miss TARDIS, so I don't create unnecessary confrontations or even reveal the existence of my strings before it's convienient. I only employ my strings when it's necessary, so until then, my strings are laying dormant on every person that you and I have come into contact with.

You are a coward and a fool. A monster. You will harm no others and I will not give you what you want.

A monster, perhaps. I hear that often enough. But that's what tends to happen when you work for a terrorist organization, after all.

Oh, but I've been called a monster ever since I was a child anyways. Did I ever tell you the truth about that? It wasn't vampires that killed my village, of course. I killed them all when I was...Oh, I think the last one died in November, so I suppose I was 6 or so? It wasn't too long after that, I suppose, when Cain and Isaak came to visit, so that sounds about right.

{Smiles~} I really lost track of time in that year.

And what purpose could any of that have served? What was the point?

Oh, that one was very easy. That was to test the capabilities of my strings and develop them so that they would be perfect. I needed test subjects, and after my father tried to kill me, I thought I would return the favor. It just went from there.
