[the Master has yet to return 'home' since the plot. in fact, he's been loitering around in his new fortress with Self (whenever he's about), for the most part, on the basis of 'anything is better than cheetah planet'. for now, he relaxes at the pub, entirely pleased with everything for once]

You know, I rather enjoyed that whole ordeal.

[looking into the bar and decides to bother him] Yes but you did get a metal palace out of it. I think that puts you in a better position than most.

I love our fort.

So do I. It has everything!

I'll be adding in a few more furnishing over the next few days, of course.

We need more pillows! And I was considering getting ourselves another time-space visualiser and putting it in our bedroom.

[because of course they have a shared bedroom as well individual ones]

Wonderful. If our realities were merged, Self, I'd assist you.

You know, Self, we really ought to try some experiments in controlling reality mergers. I can't say I fancy the idea of having cheetahs around again, but I imagine you might enjoy having a bit more of the world than Manchester.

[he nods] I know a bit, through trial and experimentation - I figure we're already forming enough ties now to trigger a potential partial merge in the future. [then he pauses, to think] The problem is that you'd also be risking allowing your reality to be infected with the virus; even if it may become diluted. It's bad enough I'm stuck with it.

[a thoughtful rubbing of underneath his nose] And I imagine that would be a great deal more difficult to exercise careful selection over a virus.

[he drinks] Precisely. Think of it as very precise surgery. Any mistake, and you'd be left to deal with the consequences.

[he grins at the Doctor] It isn't my fault if people didn't find ways to benefit from it.

I actually quite liked it. Bit like camping! Only in darkness and all.

We could always practice on other people.

[he laughs] But do we want to share realities with them? We'd need to pick suitable people with suitable realities.

I suppose dear Gene's wouldn't work, would it? Though you could try increasing and decreasing the level of virus spread into the city. As for me, I'd like to do my best to control the inevitable merger with one Ryotarou. I don't fancy the way his universe deals with time.

It'd disturb a few projects I'm working on - but I could potentially convince him I'm working on a means to prevent the virus spreading further.

[he cocks his head]

How does it work there? If it's enough where you'd want to prevent it... we could practice that between us. Trigger a minor merger, then work on tearing it apart, repeat ad infinitum.

The darkness wasn't too hindering on my end. It was rather amusing, watching everyone bumble about in the dark.

Projects, self? Do tell.

[thought that was cute, by the way]

Trains in the sands of time. I don't mean that as a metaphor; it's a literal train in a literal time desert. Absolute nonsense, in my opinion. I imagine a few exercises might be beneficial.

Just a bit of experimentation towards what might happen if someone infected with the virus were to remain in Manchester for a prolonged period of time. Not to mention, how long it'll take before Mr. Hunt is obeying me of his own free will.

How is that going? The obedience, not the virus, though I'll be interested to hear the results.

[nods sadly]

It's absurd. I don't want any part in it.

Yes, well, you got new toys out of it.

[also, he paused to try to remember if he's used this one already]

[he probably has, at some point, but the Master doesn't care! instead, he flashes a fanged grin at Sam]

Things have been going in my favour of late, Mr. Tyler.

I doubt I'm the only one who was capable of benefitting...
