He laughs suddenly, and then he stands straight; he takes several violent, gasping breaths and then he controls himself by force. When he speaks again, his whole demeanor is much calmer.]

My name is Patrick Bateman and I live on the eleventh floor of the American Garden Building. That's in New York. I used to run into Tom Cruise in the elevator.

[He completely loses control, and it's most evident on his face—his expression is one of rage, twisting his features, his face is turning red.]

He briefly imagines her in several pieces strewn across the floor of his apartment and even though her blood is staining his new beige drapes in his mental picture, he finds the fantasy strangely calming.]

It took her a lot longer to die, this time, but that's okay, they'll both treasure the memories. It takes a second or two to snap out of the fantasy, and he's disappointed when he manages it.]

Hmm...{She puts a finger to her chin thoughtfully} Some people describe it as a...nexus point between realities, I think it is. It's the Twins and Miss Meredith that bring us all together here. Each person lives in their own world, and it's just here we can all come together. Like I like in New York in 2006, but a good friend of mine lives in Manchester in the 1970s. I think it's 1973, but I'm not sure on that exact year.

It's very strange at first, but you get used to it. I think it's lovely here.
