[Despite her previous smugness confidence with the Brigadier regarding the outcome of the little tussle with the Master and Autons, the Doctor is not really as cheerful in hindsight. Being at a stalemate is all well and good, but this particular stalemate leaves both herself and the Master stuck on Earth until one seeks out the other. Which really puts the balance of power somewhat in the hands of whoever cares to last the longer trapped on Earth.

That was not the Doctor's intention, given that (though it's been a few months) it still seems like she's only just gotten off Earth. UNIT, however, is considerably better than Sainsbury's, and she's very happy to finally be with Jamie and Zoe (and Jo, she supposes - the girl's useful in a crisis, if not precisely the sort she'd expect to be working with UNIT). So if it's not exactly a victory, it's certainly not a loss.

At any rate, she's visiting the Plane, fab overcoat and suchlike and all (she's trying to blend in, sort of; it was Jo's idea). Accounting for two very important items: the Master's dematerialization circuit (tucked into a somewhat larger and more secure on the inside pocket); and a yellow plastic daffodil in her hands (one of the UNIT employees handed it off to her, presumably because he was somewhat disturbed by the connection to the Autons, though it's not particularly dangerous unless activated. At least, she hopes that's the reason. It would get a little awkward if people started giving her flowers, plastic or otherwise, for any other reasons).]
