Minato! We have a case, too! Actually we have two of them. Well...okay we have several ongoing cases but gene gave us one.

Gene?

... Okay. [writes it down]

Ah,.. wait. Are you working for those twins?

They are capable of asking their own questions.

No. I'm helping Fumie.

[shrugs]

Gene challenged us! He gave us a case to solve and he's Sam's friend but he's very rude and mean. Anyway, we have to win! I won't accept a loss from my team!

What's the case?

A serial murderer... [clearly not excited about that and shoves the case file forward] Gene's already done everything obvious. [Minato, the case in that file isn't a serial murder case, by the way. Gene liiiiiiies] The point is! We need to make him lose!

I don't think policing was meant to be like that... [Fumie never looked at it? Because that's the first thing Minato's doing]

[she peeked in enough to see pictures of guns and lots of papers with stuff she didn't understand on it :|] Well, Gene is one of those cops on the late night movies where the cop thinks he's the king of the streets and then the yakuza makes deals with him.

[He glances over some of the papers and photos before deciding that there is a definite lack of murders in this serial murderer file] ... This file is missing some information.

Really? I didn't drop any! I was really careful! That must be Gene's fault. He must be trying to rig this against us. That cheater!

[he looks through a few pages again] ... Who were the victims?

[pulls up a screen of all the info she caught off Gene] Three victims, all female. Suspects already checked include released prisoners, people with a history of violence, and temp workers and immigrants. The person is most likely male, has black market ties and likes 'specialty' items, although Gene didn't say what sort. That's what he told me.

How were they killed? Did they share any common background?

He didn't say. I figured all that would be in the file and we could look over it.

[looks at the file again. Third time does not make the information reveal itself.] It's not here.

What? It's the right file, right?

.... [shakes head]

...

[stomps her foot] That damn liar! Urgh. Forget that, then, Minato. We'll have to show him up the old-fashioned way of just being all around better.

[hands the file back]

Hmph... [tucks the file into her pack] Well, you're doing a good job, Minato.

You too, Fumie.

[manly back pats for you, Minato] Keep this up and you'll be second in command in no time.
