{Amshel is back, all is well in Diva's world. Or, that is, as "well" as it normally is. She's opted for a blood transfusion today, so Diva is sitting in a chair with one arm out and taking in a steady drip of blood. It's not something that happens often (especially when Amshel is encouraging her to just go 'hunting'), but it's a nice, peaceful alternative. It's really too bad it's not practical.

But in any case, Diva's lap is full of photographs. Some look very old, while some look more recent. There's not a lot that can be done during the process, so Diva has decided to take a stroll through her memories, humming contently as she flips through the photographs with a fond expression.}

{Glances up} Ah, yes, I'm fine Tohru. This is...Well, it's not exactly normal, but it's helpful when I need it. I'm anemic, so I need more blood than I can get from time to time.

Oh, not really. Amshel came back, and just in time, I guess. I slept for a whole day, actually.

{Thoughtfully, looking up from the photographs} So Amshel decided that it would be good to have a...blood transfusion, I think it's called, to make sure I stayed, um, healthy. And it takes a while, so I decided to look through the photographs I've been able to keep.

[Actually came over to ask about something else but stops when he sees her] Are you all right?

I'm fine. I'm anemic, so I needed a little more blood than I could get.

And you can't do this all the time instead of sucking people dry why now?

Well, it's really not practical. If I wanted to be like I normally am, I would have to do this almost every day. Saya does it once a week, I think Miss Julia said, but she's very weak.

{Looks back to the pictures} And I really hate needles, but that probably doesn't seem like a good argument.

[Ikki watches, hands shoved in his pockets. Eventually he shuffles over, casual, and curious about the photos.]

Family photos? Or something else?

Yes, Amshel's back. He doesn't remember much about where he'd been, but I don't really care anyways. I'm glad he came back.

Oh, not really family photos. I don't have a family, so that wouldn't work. It's a bunch of different photos from all the times I've been awake. Like...

{Diva shuffles through the photos, finally picking out one of the oldest and holding it out to show Ikki} Like this is when I was masquerading as Anastasia. Alexei is the one in the front, and I'm the one drinking tea behind the empress.

No, not it's not. [leans back, having a smoke] What's so wrong with you being weak, anyway? Makes my job a hell of a lot easier.

Photographs. There aren't a lot that I got to keep, but it's nice to look at them and remember what was happening when they took the picture. There's a few of me, but a lot of them are people that I knew. Like there's Russia, Germany, and oh, there's a few of Vietnam, but not a lot. Not a lot of cameras in the countryside, really.

They all look kind of pissed off at being interrupted.

Well, it was kind of the only way. It's a good thing Amshel came back, because I was asleep all of yesterday. Or, well, I remember going to sleep two days ago, and I woke up this morning and Amshel is back. So he decided that a few transfusions, if that's what it's called, would be the best way to get my strength again.

{Simply} Because if I'm weak, then I'll die.

Oh, well I mean I really don't have one. My mother was long dead when Saya and I were born. But that's a part of what I am that seems to confuse humans, so...

{Laughs} Well except for Fa--Nicholas, they kind of were. Nicholas knew that there would be a photographer around that morning to take pictures of palace life for the record books, but we weren't really expecting it. Oh, and of course, Alexandra had just finished lecturing me about playing "too rough" with Alexei, so I was pretty angry! Olga was always the curious one, though, so she was more interested in seeing the camera.

Absolutely. Just like she's the only person in the world that can kill me, I'm the only one that can kill her.

You say masquerading, but it seems like you genuinely cared about the people you were with.

Great. Don't care. Why can she be weak and you can't? Seems to me, if she's living and doing the same bloody thing you're doing now, there's nothing stopping you from doing it, too.
