As far as I know, his Tenth is his most recent, but he will have Thirteen in all by the end of his life.

...well, he has to keep her around for some reason.

[she rather likes it when people thinks she's cool~] He is a Time Lord, therefore he has the ability to regenerate. He can do so twelve times before his biological data deteriorates to the point where regeneration is impossible.

He claims to love her, and she him. I believe he only keeps her around because she keeps coming back, even when he tells her not to. She's quite a bit like a lost little puppy, in that regard.
