[the Brigadier has decided to put his mind somewhere else. he's on the Plane with a new gun, a S&W, and has set up a few targets at various distances. he needs to get used to the kick, the rate of fire, the line of fire, everything about the weapon. shooting is a good way of venting, a good way of taking his mind of his death and putting it elsewhere. he should be firing more calmly, carefully - but a little bit of his emotions are leaking through. he's firing a bit too quickly, and not always hitting the targets like he should]

...Dratted gun. Nothing like the Webley.

[and he begins reloading]

{Just watches curiously until he starts reloading before coming closer} That is quite the firearm, sir. I have not seen one so advanced...I suppose that would mean that you are from the "future" for me as well.

[Sort of meanders gradually closer, but making sure to stay away from his front bit]

Not the best place for shooting.

That would be why then! It is only 1879 in my home, so such weapons are only just coming into the hands of the rich and influential people of Japan.

Yeah, but what if someone pops into this place right when you fire?

[.... free food]

Uhh. Nevermind.

{Unsheathes his katana, setting on his shoulder} Only this sword, though it is all I need.

Nice weather.

A well made blade and a well trainer wielder are more valuable than any firearm, I believe. You would have to be quick, but I have seen cases where the swordsmen of this era were able to defeat a person with even a Gatling gun.

Supernovas count as weather.

[identity profile] noking.livejournal.com 2008-05-24 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
They totally count as weather.

It's an explosion in space. That's sort of like a thunderstorm.

[identity profile] noking.livejournal.com 2008-05-24 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah it is.

Basically yes.
