[Sam is still bloody and bruised from his fight with the monsters. Gene Hunt's camel hide coat is in his arms, pressed close to his chest.]

Lapis, Lazuli. You said you sold anything. I have something I want to buy.

[pop up and tilt their heads] What do you want to buy?

[didorothy]

[clinging to the jacket] Can you bring people back to life?

[realitymods]

[look at him curiously] Sure. We're skilled at it. It'll cost you, you know. And you have to tell us who.

[didorothy]

Gene Hunt. [pulls the coat closer] What do you want?

[realitymods]

[look at each other, check their lists, then look at each other again] Hmm. How about you agree to work for us?

[didorothy]

[nods, despite himself - he wishes he could pretend there's something he wouldn't give, but he cannot] For how long? Doing what work? I don't - I don't want to do anything illegal. [though it's quite evident from his voice that he would]

[realitymods]

[hurray, someone they can clearly prey on] Indefinitely~ Probably for most of your stay. And we'll decide what you do later. But it probably won't be too illegal.

[didorothy]

I'm still an officer of the law.

[realitymods]

[hands on their hips] You want him back, right?

[didorothy]

[bites his tongue, holding the jacket as close as he can] How long will it take? You won't... do anything to him, will you?

[realitymods]

[look at each other] Well...usually revivals take away but we have a different process we can use. It shouldn't be too long at all. And we do have a standard procedure on all revivals. His personality won't be effected, if that's the worry.

[didorothy]

[a broken laugh] Worried about losing that charming personality? [swallows down a sob] If I'm working for you indefinitely, you'll bring him back if he dies again?

[realitymods]

You know you'd miss it, since you already do. But yes, he'll be more or less intact. He'll still be Gene Hunt. [tip their heads to the side] Hmm, yes! We can do that. Anything else?

[didorothy]

That's all. [starts to hold out the coat to them, and then pulls it back to his chest] Do you need me to - [his breathing hitches, but he stops himself. Gene is coming back, there's no reason to 'be a girl' over him. "Stop being such sissy poofter, Gladys;" Sam lets out a short laugh] - bring him to you?

[realitymods]

[pout slightly because they still have some feelings and Sam's so sad. So they do their version of comfort and pat his arms] We can get him if you like.

[didorothy]

[nods] I - I'll just take care of these monsters while I wait.

[realitymods]

[nod!] Take care of what needs to be taken care of~

[not so stupid as to miss someone holding back tears and thus grabs his hand] That's fine! I've probably seen worse! O-Or...or maybe it's nice to me! I'm still staying with you.
