[ As many wacky and amazing things have happened on the Plane in the past, this is perhaps an entirely new one. There is a kitten, not old enough to be a cat yet, but certainly out of his fuzzbutt stage by now. He wears a red bandana tied around his neck and seems to be giving the Plane a very uninterested inspection. ]
This is new. Maybe I'll drag Jowd or Missile out here sometime, see what they think of it.
[ The kitten begins trotting around, eventually spotting a very comfy-looking chair in the middle of the nowhere space. He hops up, tries a few positions on the seat, then jumps from arm to back and settles himself there. ]
View is great, though. I can see for ages up here... not that there's all that much to see. What is this place?
[ After a few moments, the kitten closes his eyes. The chair begins to rattle, and the cat rolls off the back of the chair onto the seat in a flop of graceless limbs. Sissel, now possessing the chair, pauses. ]
Oops. Should have realized that would happen. At least it's peaceful around here.
[ ooc; Sissel will speak to people! He just doesn't actually have the capability to communicate unless he specifically engages it first, and then you end up in a talking-is-a-free-action zone when he does. ]

Any normal person would run over and see what happened to the now seemingly-lifeless creature. Loki, on the other hand, knows better, and walks right up to the chair, removing his cloaking spell as though he's just appeared out of thin air. He looks not at the cat, but at the chair as he squats down in front of it and begins to speak.]
What a talented little creature, you are. [Not nearly as much as him, but then again, who is? He reaches out to gently pet the top of the cat's head.] Pity you leave your body in such a prone state. Around here, such things aren't exactly advisable.

And so, it was with some tension and caution that Sissel reached out to the man's core (this one looked proper, as though he had died and been revived, which only made the kitten even more curious) to speak. In this place, this realm between life and death, time was stopped as long as they lingered inside of it. It made speaking to other people pretty handy, at least, but he had no illusions that anyone would be trapped inside it.
It just gave him time to think. To process the warning that had been given to him. ]
What do you mean by that?

The Plane of Astral, filled with its impossible stars that will not burn you, is dangerous when the mood strikes. Just as it could easily maim and kill you, it can give and beg forgiveness for its actions. You ought to exercise caution.
And now that I have answered your question, perhaps you can answer mine: what manner a creature are you?
no subject
Thanks for the warning. Since you asked so nicely: I'm a cat.
[ It is said smugly, but mostly because he only knows that it isn't the answer Loki is looking for. It's too obvious. However, he doesn't know what other answer to give. ]
no subject
A cat. [He says flatly. That indeed is not the answer he is looking for, and he can't help feeling a small bit of annoyance grow inside him.] Let me ask, are you from Midgard? Or Earth, as the mortals prefer calling it?
no subject
[ The question isn't asked with censure so much as curiosity and the sort of open-mindedness only someone unconditioned by complex social pressures could have. ]
Or, rather, should I be asking where you're from instead?
no subject
Shall I explain?
no subject
Not many people take time to tell a cat their stories like that. On the other hand, I'd love to hear. Hit me with it.

[Loki waves a hand, a small cloud of stars appearing between them. The cloud resembles a giant tree.] You know of Midgard. [A small cluster begins to glow, taking on a spherical shape. As he mentions them, others will appear along the tree.] There are others: Svartalfheim, home of the dark elves of long ago; Muspelheim, home of the fire demons; Niflheim, realm of the dishonoured dead and Hel; Nidavellir, home of the Dwarves; Alfheim, home of the Light Elves; Jotunheim, home of the frost giants; and Vanaheim, home of the Vanir. Last and greatest of all is Asgard, and that is where I am from. [This last sphere glows with a golden light. His magic is so much stronger now. Before coming here, his illusions wouldn't have been nearly as strong as this.] We keep the other realms safe, and protect Midgard from invasion.
[He speaks the truth (for once) but does not go into details, as he figures any other detail may be too much at once for the little creature to handle. There are other smaller realms, like Nornheim and Valhalla, that he keeps to himself.]

I never knew. Earth itself is big enough for me. All this is out there, too?
no subject
So, now you know about my realm. Perhaps you can now tell me how it is you are able to speak with me and possess furniture.
no subject
That? Oh, that's easy. I'm a ghost. Ghosts do that kind of thing. What do you mean by "you don't know if they exist in my reality"?
no subject
I mean, we are all from different realities. What is true for my world may not be for yours. For example, I have never seen a feline ghost such as yourself until this very day. [You should consider yourself very lucky, Sissel, to be graced with such a presence as his.]
no subject
This is my body from when I was alive, but I suppose you could say I'm possessing it. No better choice for it, right?
[ He's a cat. Who expects gratefulness from a cat? ]
no subject
What shall I call you, little one?
[ooc: Sorry for this late tag! I thought I got it.]
late-tag? what'choo talkin' 'bout?
You can call me Sissel. You got a name of your own?
