[Eithan seriously has no idea what hit him. He's looking pretty blank right now, which is generally what happens when he's worried as hell and has absolutely zero answers. Even though he definitely wants answers - and he wants them right the hell now - he has no idea where to start. So... time to go sit and think for a bit, huh? He doesn't want to go to the bar, not yet. Probably people there. His second instinct is to head for the library, so that's the direction he goes in.
On the way there, he smokes - first a cigarette of his own, and the second that one's done, it's sure as hell not enough and he lights up a clove to follow it up. He pulls something else out of his coat as he walks: a scarf, gray and green. Definitely not his. (Eithan, wear houndstooth? You'd have to pay him. A lot.) He squints at it, concerned, but not entirely sure... why.
Once he's in the library, he finds a chair and sits. He sighs heavily, lets the scarf drop to the floor before he drags his hands down his face and just... stares blankly ahead.]
... Man, what the fuck.
((OoC: Eithan was murdered! Come get your next clue. o/ Can run into him before the library or in the library, don't care which.))

Wh-- Oh. [He blinks, slowly, slouches forward again and looks back to the floor.] Heh, uh. Yeah, I guess it must've been?
[He swallows. Hard. He's obviously bothered by this. He also squints, looks incredibly thoughtful.... like he wants to talk about it, but he has no damn clue where to start.]

[He shakes his head. He looks a little bit helpless for a few seconds, then his gaze hits the scarf he dropped on the floor. He picks it up, squints at it.]
I think I-... [Beat.] I mean, I woke up in the back of the shop. For whatever reason. But I don't remember anything before it. And this? Isn't mine. [He twists the scarf a bit.] ... Not exactly my colors.
no subject
The shop!? [her alarm is clear]
Let me see it. [she's already reaching for the scarf. she may not be part of forensics, but she can at least look for clues] Did anybody in the shop tell you anything about what happened?
no subject
Nope. Not a thing. [And from his dark, almost sharp tone, he does not like that.]
Didn't say shit. Just kinda shoved me out on my way.
no subject
Great. [she scowls] Are you hurt? [she's also wondering about drugged, considering his behaviour] If we're careful about it, I could get you checked out. Maybe even a drug test.
no subject
And we could, but... would that even be okay? I mean, you're human, right? Does your world have demons?
no subject
[she blinks at him] You're a demon? [it's clearly a surprise to her, but it isn't something that puts her off. she just shakes her head] Ah, not that I've met yet. But even if there are, you've got a point. I probably 'aven't got the facilities you need. What about where you're from?
no subject
We don't really need like... special facilities. I just meant there'd probably be noticeable differences in a drug test. And probably some other shit. Not worth gettin' people suspicious of you over. And I... guess I could go home, but I dunno who I could tell. I can't just call the call-doctor and be like "Hey, so I d-... d-died..." [He shakes his head sharply. dfsklajl Does not like saying it out loud aaah.] "... so can you come have a look? Thanks. By the way, my blood's black now. Don't freak out."
[He's quiet for a second, thinking...] I guess I could get my friend to sneak me into a hospital. And maybe he knows someone who knows about medical shit.
no subject
Yeah, point taken. [she snorts a little at his scenario, not that she particularly feels like laughing in the circumstances] If you know that much about it, then it probably wouldn't 'elp anyway. I'd be surprised if every sign of what 'appened before isn't already gone. [she sighs]
[she's surprised by that suggestion, though. she doesn't think it would help with the case if he's sure he died, but she figures he might learn if there's been another change. that's his business, though, so she just nods] If you want. [she offers the scarf back to him] 'ave you ever seen anyone wearing something like that--either on the Plane or off? And what's the last thing you remember?
no subject
[He sighs too.] Fuckin' great, right? No clue except this stupid thing [he takes the scarf back at that point~] and no memories at all.
And yeah, never seen it before. Not on anyone. And if I have, I don't remember it. The last thing I do remember is comin' here in the first place to figure some shit out about the house I brought. Never actually got to it, I woke up on that table.
no subject
So it happened 'ere. [her eyes narrow] I don't think I've seen that house. Where is it?
no subject
It's that way. [He points.] Brought it from my world to do somethin' with it with Emil, but it's still empty right now. Still needs repairs, too.
no subject
[and at his directions, she nods] I'll take a look. Are you gonna be all right on your own? [she eyes him, not sure if she should leave him there unsupervised]
no subject
Yeah, anytime.
Feel free. But if it's suddenly not empty, mind tellin' me? Heh. [He runs a hand through his hair, pausing while he considers her question.] I'll be fine. Really. Probably should be on my own for a bit. You know, sort my shit out.
[Nothing like dying to make you start thinking about your own thought processes and reactions, huh...? -- Which then, actually, tangentially reminds him of a particular person whose thought processes are so far removed from anything Eithan would consider sane! Doc! And he found weird items when he woke up too, right...?
He perks up, just a little, and holds up a hand to keep her from leaving just yet.]
Hey, wait. You're gettin' all detective on this, I'm guessin'? With the questions and the photo?
no subject
What gave you that idea? It's not like it's me job. But--since you asked nicely--yeah. I think I might be a detective about this.
[more seriously, she adds:] So if you learn anything else, keep me in touch.
no subject
[But he turns serious, too. Nods once.] Before you go, then... Do you know Doc? Purple armor, kinda weird... okay a lot weird. Not the chick, or the tall guy. The other one. He says he woke up on the tables, too. Doesn't remember shit, but for whatever reason had a baseball, a walkin' stick and a box of matches when he uh... woke back up. So this is obviously just... part of a bigger thing goin' on. Somehow. I don't know.
no subject
[knowing Eithan needs time to sort things out, she leaves it at that. they can talk about what this might mean later. so she turns, heading off to find either the mansion or this "Doc"--whichever comes first]
