[Jacqli appears on the Plane with the smuggest of smirks on her face. It's almost... dark, the way she wears it. She looks like she has all of the answers, like everything is going her way and nothing can stop it. And in this particular case, she's probably right. Which is probably the scary part.]

... Finally.

[She looks around, wondering who might be around. Then she decides that it doesn't matter, and makes her way to the beach. The desolate, waterless sand seems an ideal place for something like this, anyway. And once she's there, situated and ready, she rolls her shoulders back, tosses her hair out of her face and stands a bit straighter.]

I'll make sure it's ready before I go back.

[Suddenly, there's music, and she begins to sing.

Of course here, on the Plane, her words are translated for all...

[Menzies listens from a distance at first, her curiosity getting the better of her. she's not sure what Jacqli might be up to--or even whether or not Jacqli's music functions on the Plane--but she doesn't particularly want to interrupt something potentially powerful like that. and, more than that, she wants to find out what she can from those lyrics]

[it's only when Jacqli stops that she approaches. she's not really sure what to say. after all, the song sounded to her like it was about Jacqli locked in a cage--maybe even Jacqli out for revenge if that's what all the red symbolized, but there were also bits about making people happy. in conclusion, she has no real idea what to make of it. so, being the person she is, Menzies decides to just be direct and find out]

You've got some voice, Miwa. So what's that one meant to do?

[After an outpouring of emotion like that, Jacqli needs about half a second to reground herself and school herself back to a state she'd rather show the world. When Menzies approaches, speaks up, she's already back to "normal," that small - but proud and, yes, smug - smirk back in place. She places one hand on her hip, nods in answer to the compliment.]

It's something I rewrote, for this specific occasion in my world. [Not that she's going to elaborate on the original without prodding, of course~] I intend to use it to confuse and dismantle a creature that's a manifestation of anger and fear, so we can deal with what's actually important instead of wasting our time with such a weak thing.

Rewrote the lyrics, you mean? [Menzies isn't going to push too hard too fast, but she is curious]

[at Jacqli's description of what the song will do, though, she smirks in amusement] Oh yeah? [sarcasm mixes with her amusement] Well, wouldn't want you to get slowed down by weak emotions like anger and fear! So, I take it you're travelling again. With the same group as before? [there's more than just the surface to that question--she's still wondering about the fate of the Holy Maiden that Jacqli mentioned when she brought the jewel to the Plane before]

Only a little - a word or two here or there. I was happy with the original, but this is better for the current situation.

[Sarcasm is still her favorite! So she's still smirking.] The emotions are far from weak. This creation is, though. It doesn't cut it. They really should have done a better job.

And yes, I am. [She recognizes the question for what it is and offers...] With both of the Holy Maidens and their vanguards. [Yes, Luca's okay. In fact, she's definitely doing a hell of a lot better than the nearly-catatonic Cloche at the moment. Oops?]

Happiness unraveling anger and fear? [she smirks, amused] Makes sense, I suppose. But that sort of sentiment's a bit out of my jurisdiction. [curiously, she adds:] What was the original for, anyway?

[she snorts. it's a good thing sarcasm is Jacqli's favourite because it's also Menzies'] You'll 'ave to let the creator know your concerns. Maybe with a bit of constructive criticism, they can attack you with something worth fighting!

[as Jacqli's statement gives Menzies no hint of that information, she just nods--and smirks a little] Sounds like a large group. All humans? [from her tone, that might be a bit of teasing. but she follows it up with the more serious:] So...have you found a new solution to your problem? Or a possibility, at least?

[She smirks back -- not quite what's going on, but hey, close enough.] The original was meant to calm the listener. It was meant to bring happiness.

[It was a song not meant for combat or war. So it was ignored. Rejected. And she was deemed a failure. And so, it all went steadily downhill from there... but. She's not going to think about that.]

I hope so. I've made it quite clear that such a weak thing is beneath me. If they're smart, they'll listen.

[She shakes her head. Tease away~ She'll just answer anyway.] The Holy Maidens are both reyvateils, of course. One of the vanguards is as well. The rest are human. As for a solution... I haven't. But, in the meanwhile, there's nothing keeping me from helping these people create the real Metafalica.

I see. [she smiles a little sadly; it seems a shame for a song like that to have to be used in battle. but at the same time, it's nice to see that--assuming her hunch is right--the same sentiment has carried through for Jacqli since way back when]

[she knew that about the Holy Maidens, but she couldn't resist the question. she nods] Worth travelling with, or 'ave you come to get away from them for a while? [she frowns] The real--what do you mean?

They're worth traveling with. They're not useless, at least. [Teasing~]

The land they created the first time was corrupted. It wasn't the real Metafalica, what the new land should have been. There should be an answer. We just have to find it. [Aaand then she rolls her eyes.] Too bad at the moment, we've been sidetracked by ridiculous human power games. Though I guess in a way, it's still part of the same central problem.

[she smirks] Glad to 'ear it.

Ahh, got it. [from past conversations, she knew that about the land, but the name was unfamiliar. now, she nods in understanding--though at Jacqli's last comment, her lip quirks with wry amusement] What, human ambition?

[She smirks.] I was thinking egocentrism, but ambition fits too.
